South Korea is one of those destination which many people missed. On the left side of Korea, there is China. And on the right side of Korea, there is Japan. These three county are so close to each other but they have totally different cultures, norms and lifestyle. There is a nothing which three country have in common. That is one reason why three country have so many struggles about cultures, border, diplomatic incidents and etc. But also I can say these three country have the closest relationship about economy, tour, history and media. So, If someone have a plan to go these country, I recommend you to go though all three country. You can compare and contrast with each cultures if you are ready to learn something from your travel.
Especially I am a Korean student so want to introduce Korea. in KOREA we will see scenic and historic urban/rural cities. Some place have some modern skyscrapers and ancient royal palaces together. Other place have rural landscapes and tempers or palaces.
As you see, Korea is not a big country. But each town have their own special dinning or meals. Even only a few Korean have experiences of these foods. I believe a lot of world people know Kimchi for sure. How many kinds of Kimchi do you think Korean have? Even I don't know like people can not assume how many kinds of wine is in the world. Recently, Kimchi might represent Korean Food. But in Korea, these are just one of the Korean Foods.
Korean Language
Korean language is called as "Hangeul". It was invented in 1443 by King Sejong(1397-1450) who was the 4th King of the Joseon Dynasty.

Korean History - Brief -
Gojoseon Kingdon (2333 - 108 B.C.)
Buyeo, Goguryeo, Okjeo, Dongye Jin state, Samhan(Ma, Byeon, Jin), Four commanderies of Han. This period was after the fall of Gojoseon and before the maturation of four kingdoms.
Three Kingdoms (57 B.C. - 668 A.D.)
Actually, there were four countries but Gaya was a small federation of several small states. And Gaya had a shortest period. That is why this term was called as 'Three Kingdoms period'.
# Silla Kingdom ( 57 B.C. - 935 A.D.)
In its early days, Silla was the weakest of three kingdoms but later became powerful enough to unify them under its rule in 676.
Baekjae was the most advanced nation at that time. So, they exerted great influence on various fields of others, especially Japanese cultures.
# Gaya Kingdom(100~1 B.C. - 562 A.D.)
Gaya played a leading role to spread Iron skills out.
Gojoseon was the very first 'country' which was formed in Korea.

Joseon was named after Gojoseon which was the very first country in Korea. During the Joseon Dynasty, culture, literature, science and the most thing got advanced. Specially, In 1443, King Sejong the Great invented KOREAN which we still use.
The Japanese Occupation Period (1910-1945)
In the early 20th century, Korea was occupied by Japan. Korea was exploited for the benefit of the Japanese Empire. It was considered as the painful, inhuman and degrading occupation period.
The Republic of KOREA (1945 - Present)
After the painful period, the Korean War broke out and the the Korea was divided into South and North Korea. And I am from South Korea. South Korea has undergone vast social, economic, and political change and hosted the 1988 Seoul Olympics and 2002 FIFA World Cup.

After the painful, inhuman and degrading occupation period, the Korean War broke out in a Sunday morning at June.25.1950. After Japan was defeated in the World War 2, the Soviet Union and the Unite State constituted intervention in the internal affairs of KOREA. The North Korea was with the Soviet and The South Korea was with the Unite state.
On Sunday morning (June.25.1950), The North Korea started to attack the South Koera with the aid of the Soviet and the China (Communist) in the name of an abstraction like an unification and driving left Japan's threats out. I think It was the worst and cruelest ideological conflict in the Koran History, excepting The Japanese Occupation Period.
During the Korean War, So many people sacrificed themselves for keeping peace. I'd like to offer my condolences and respects. As one of Korean male student, I will never forget their spirits.
